Короткий огляд (реферат): У дисертаційній роботі проведено комплексний аналіз відображення римо-католицького впливу в богословській спадщині та практичній діяльності єпископа Станіславівського Григорія Хомишина (1904–1945 рр.). Систематизовано й охарактеризовано стан наукового опрацювання вітчизняних та зарубіжних дослідників із досліджуваної проблематики, аналіз та структурування якої здійснено згідно з проблемно-хронологічним принципом і умовно поділено на три групи: роботи науковців української діаспори; праці українських дослідників доби незалежної України; дослідження зарубіжних науковців. Попри наявність тематично споріднених праць, у яких висвітлено окремі аспекти діяльності єпископа, вплив римо-католицизму на богословську спадщину та практичну діяльність Г. Хомишина не отримав комплексного висвітлення в історичній науці. Джерельною базою наукового дослідження є неопубліковані матеріали, що зберігаються в архівних установах, та опубліковані документи. Основою джерельної бази дослідження є матеріали, що зберігаються в центральних, державних, обласних та галузевих архівах України, зокрема Львова, Івано-Франківська, Києва. Опубліковані матеріали, використані у дисертаційному дослідженні, поділено на три підгрупи. Перша – послання та праці самого єпископа Г. Хомишина; друга – документи опубліковані у збірниках документів та спогади безпосередніх свідків подій; третя – періодичні видання, які виходили у Східній Галичині у період перебування у складі Австро-Угорщини та Республіки Польща. Їх аналіз дозволив реконструювати богословську концепцію єпископа, простежити еволюцію його поглядів та визначити ступінь практичної імплементації латинських новацій у релігійно-церковне життя Станіславівської єпархії.; The dissertation presents a comprehensive analysis of the manifestation of Roman Catholic influence in the theological heritage and practical activity of the Bishop of Stanislaviv, Hryhorii Khomyshyn (1904–1945). The work systematises and characterises the state of scholarly research conducted by Ukrainian and foreign scholars on the subject under investigation. The historiographical analysis is structured according to a problem-chronological principle and conditionally divided into three groups: works of scholars of the Ukrainian diaspora, studies by Ukrainian researchers of the period of independent Ukraine, and research by foreign scholars. Despite the existence of thematically related studies addressing particular aspects of the bishop’s activity, the influence of Roman Catholicism on the theological heritage and practical activity of H. Khomyshyn has not yet been comprehensively studied in historical scholarship. The research is based on unpublished archival materials and published documents. The main source base consists of archival documents preserved in central, state, regional, and specialised archives of Ukraine, particularly in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Kyiv. The published documents used in the dissertation are divided into three subgroups. The first subgroup includes letters and works authored by Bishop H. Khomyshyn himself; the second comprises documents published in documentary collections and the memoirs of direct witnesses to the events; the third consists of periodicals published in Eastern Galicia during its incorporation into Austria-Hungary and the Republic of Poland. Короткий огляд (реферат): Дисертаційну роботу присвячено аналізу політичних та культурних відносин між Україною та Японією впродовж кінця ХХ – початку ХХІ ст. Мета дослідження – визначити та проаналізувати характерні особливості та тенденції розвитку українсько-японських відносин у сферах політики та культури впродовж 1991–2022 рр., означити здобутки та проблеми співробітництва, наявні та перспективні пріоритетні напрямки інтенсифікації двосторонніх зв’язків. Актуальність обраної теми дослідження полягає у трансформації міжнародного середовища впродовж кінця ХХ – початку ХХІ ст., обумовленої зміною глобальної конфігурації сил, яка, своєю чергою, внесла корективи до глобальної системи безпеки та міжнародного ринку, а також породила як нові можливості, так і ризики. Така ситуація, своєю чергою, вказує на необхідність дослідження партнерських відносин України з іншими країнами (зокрема, із Японією), простеження та детального аналізу історичного процесу побудови партнерства, вивчення нереалізованих можливостей та потенційно перспективних напрямів, які здатні привести до реалізації інтересів усіх сторін співпраці. Не менш важливим є пошук спільних цінностей, а також дослідження історичних травм та формування на цій основі коректних висновків, які могли б суттєво посприяти порозумінню в двосторонньому діалозі України та Японії та поглибити їхнє партнерство. Впродовж другої половини ХХ ст. зовнішня політика Японії була спрямована згідно з «доктриною Йошіди», яка передбачала ставку на економічний розвиток та забезпечення безпеки переважно з боку США. В умовах Холодної війни цей підхід на практичному рівні себе виправдав. Після 1991 р., Японія залишила своїм пріоритетом альянс із США, але водночас намагалась віднайти нову модель зовнішньополітичного позиціонування, що підкреслювала б її сильні сторони, надавала нові перспективи в політичному діалозі, економіці та оборонній сфері, а також відповідала б очікуванням з боку міжнародної спільноти. Тож упродовж наступних десятиліть країна реалізувала трансформації в сфері безпеки та розширювала двосторонню та багатосторонню співпрацю в Індо-Тихоокеанському просторі та за його межами, збільшувала свою участь в різноманітних міжнародних організаціях та активно надавала гуманітарну допомогу багатьом країнам світу. Про цей процес свідчать і концепції, на кшталт «Дуга свободи та процвітання», «активне сприяння миру», стратегія «Вільного і відкритого Індо- Тихоокеанського регіону», а також стратегії національної безпеки та оборони. На цьому тлі розвиток українсько-японських відносин, особливо після 2014 та 2022 років, є закономірним процесом. Японія, розширюючи свій глобальний вплив та роль у світовій політиці, шукає все більше партнерів для побудови конструктивного діалогу, взаємодії та реалізації спільних інтересів. Україна як молода держава теж потребує співпраці з надійними державами. Своєю чергою, ця двостороння взаємодія має й глобальні наслідки, сприяючи більшій інтеграції Європи та Індо-Тихоокеанського регіону, зв’язуючи їхні інтереси в питаннях економіки, безпеки, а також культурного та ціннісного взаєморозуміння. У цьому контексті Україна стає одним із містків між двома регіонами.; This dissertation is devoted to the analysis of political and cultural relations between Ukraine and Japan during the late 20th – early 21st centuries. The aim of the study is to identify and analyze the characteristic features and trends in the development of Ukrainian-Japanese relations in the spheres of politics and culture during 1991–2022, to identify the achievements and challenges of cooperation, as well as current and prospective priority areas for intensifying bilateral ties. The relevance of this research stems from the transformation of the international environment during the late 20th and early 21st centuries. This period, marked by a shift in the global balance of power, has reshaped global security and international markets while introducing both new opportunities and risks. Consequently, there is a clear need to analyze Ukraine’s partnerships, particularly with Japan, by tracing the historical development of these ties and identifying unrealized potential that could advance the interests of both nations. Furthermore, exploring shared values, historical traumas is essential for fostering mutual understanding and deepening the bilateral dialogue between Ukraine and Japan. Throughout the second half of the 20th century, Japan’s foreign policy was guided by the “Yoshida Doctrine,” which prioritized economic development while relying on the United States for security. This approach demonstrated its efficacy during the Cold War era. Post-1991, while maintaining its alliance with the United States, Japan sought a new model of foreign policy to leverage its strengths across political, economic, and defense sectors and to meet global expectations. Consequently, Japan implemented significant security reforms, expanded cooperation within the Indo-Pacific and beyond, and increased its engagement in international organizations and humanitarian aid. This shift is encapsulated in concepts such as the “Arc of Freedom and Prosperity,” “Proactive Contribution to Peace,” and the “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” (FOIP) strategy, as well as updated national security and defense frameworks. Against this backdrop, the evolution of Ukrainian-Japanese relations, especially following the milestones of 2014 and 2022, is a logical development. As Japan expands its global influence, it increasingly seeks partners to foster constructive dialogue and pursue shared interests. Ukraine, aiming to strengthen its international position, likewise requires cooperation with reliable partners. Furthermore, this bilateral engagement carries global significance, promoting deeper integration between Europe and the Indo-Pacific by aligning interests in economic, security, and socio-cultural spheres. The study focuses on identifying the patterns of Ukraine's transformation from a recipient of security consultations to an active subject and a strategic donor of transatlantic stability. The relevance of the research is determined by the profound reshaping of the Euro-Atlantic security architecture, within which Ukraine's experience in countering the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation has become a significant factor in modernizing the Western collective defense system. The work proves that under the conditions of the collapse of the previous international law system and ongoing Russian revisionism, Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration emerges as an alternative-free mechanism for guaranteeing national sovereignty. Special significance is given to the conceptualization of the transition from declarative partnership to the stage of practical interoperability, which allows viewing Ukraine's accession to the Alliance not only as a means of protecting territorial integrity but as the final stage of consolidating the European security space. The aim of the work was to provide a comprehensive scientific analysis of the historical evolution and strategic transformation of Ukraine-NATO relations amid global geopolitical shifts of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Based on a representative source base, the integral genesis of interaction between Ukraine and the Alliance is reconstructed: from initial forms of cooperation to the format of an enhanced strategic partnership. The study aims to identify the patterns of Ukraine's transformation from an object of international influences into a leading subject of transatlantic security, as well as to conceptually justify the mutual strategic value of the state's integration into the Alliance as a critical factor for the integrity of the European security architecture. The relevance of the topic is determined by dynamic changes in the regional security architecture of the Black Sea basin, the intensification of global geopolitical uncertainty, as well as the transformation of economic and cultural ties in the context of Ukrainian integration into the European Union and NATO. The study identifies patterns in the development of Ukrainian-Turkish partnership, determines the factors contributing to its stability, and assesses the role of both countries in ensuring regional stability. The historiographical review demonstrates a gradual evolution of the scholarly interpretation of Ukrainian-Turkish relations – from descriptive accounts of the establishment of diplomatic contacts in the 1990s to modern interdisciplinary interpretations encompassing political, security, economic, and humanitarian dimensions. Contemporary historiography is characterized by significant thematic expansion, the introduction of new methodological approaches, and increased attention to the regional and global contexts of interstate interaction, allowing Ukrainian-Turkish partnership to be considered as part of broader geopolitical processes in the Black Sea region. Significant contributions to the field have been made by both Ukrainian and foreign scholars, who have proposed diverse interpretative models – from concepts of strategic partnership and regional cooperation to critical assessments of Ankara’s pragmatic balancing in relations with the Russian Federation. At the same time, the analysis of existing scholarly literature reveals a certain fragmentation of knowledge manifested in the predominance of sectoral studies over comprehensive historical syntheses, insufficient integration of political, economic, and humanitarian aspects within a unified analytical approach, and limited attention to the long-term dynamics of bilateral relations within the 1991–2021 timeframe. Most works focus on particular crisis stages or thematic segments of cooperation, complicating the formation of a holistic understanding of the evolution of the partnership. In this context, the dissertation seeks to fill the identified gaps through a systematic analysis of historiographical approaches and a comprehensive examination of the transformations of Ukrainian-Turkish partnership in the political, security, economic, and humanitarian spheres. The involved corpus of sources represents an integral, systematically structured body of official international legal documentation that provides appropriate heuristic opportunities for a comprehensive study of the evolution of Ukrainian–Turkish interstate relations in 1991–2021. Its internal classification makes it possible to distinguish a number of functional and thematic segments – political-diplomatic, security and defense, economic, transport and energy, scientific and technological, and humanitarian – which reflect the multidimensional nature of cooperation and the gradual institutionalization of the strategic partnership. The body of sources is characterized by a high degree of official status, normative clarity, and factual verifiability, enabling the reconstruction of the mechanisms underlying the formulation and implementation of foreign policy, the institutional forms of cooperation, and the practical outcomes of bilateral interaction. A comprehensive analysis of these documents makes it possible to trace the transformation of Ukrainian-Turkish relations – from the stage of establishing diplomatic contacts and forming the basic contractual and legal framework in the 1990s to the development of deepened sectoral cooperation and the consolidation of a strategic partnership in the twenty-first century. The theoretical and methodological foundations of the study are based on analytical works by domestic and foreign scholars, as well as the principles of historicism and objectivity, and a wide range of general scientific and specialized historical methods and approaches. Systemic, comparative, and historical-comparative approaches were applied, along with elements of sociological analysis, economic and political statistics, and methods of content and discourse analysis. The application of these methods ensured an objective study of the main stages in the development of bilateral relations, revealing their specific features, priority directions, dynamics, and prospects for the formation of a strategic partnership.
