Abstract

The manual “Developing the strengths of social work clients” by Tetyana Semigina and Olha Stoliaryk was published in 2024 (Semigina & Stoliaryk, 2024). It is a thorough understanding of the concept focused on the strengths of clients in social work and challenges existing domestic professional practices. After all, paternalistic practice and assessment of client dysfunctions, rather than their resources, potential and strengths, are widespread in Ukraine. The manual covers both theoretical aspects of the approach and practical methods for its implementation, and incorporates previous developments by the authors. Currently, the manual can be considered extremely relevant for Ukraine right now for several reasons.
