Abstract

Protection and conservation of biodiversity is the basis for the functioning of ecosystems, as it ensures the provision of a number of important services necessary for human life, and most importantly, the preservation and restoration of natural complexes. Measures to preserve and restore biodiversity, support ecosystem services in conditions of growing anthropogenic pressure are important. Promising are studies aimed at improving the methodological aspects of assessing and quantifying the relationships between biodiversity and ecosystem services, monitoring the effectiveness of environmental protection and restoration measures and assessing their socio-economic impact. The formation of scientifically sound conservation and management strategies aimed at preserving biodiversity and the stability of national park ecosystems is especially important.
