Діяльність осередків товариства «Сокіл» на Покутті у міжвоєнний період

Abstract

The article analyzes the activities of the Sokil society branches in Pokuttya during the interwar period. Their practical activities are described; to reveal the participation of society branches in sports competitions in the region; the peculiarities of the persecution of the youth sports-gymnastics society centers by the Polish authority are highlighted. The author states that «Sokoly» (the members of Sokil society) became the bases of the formation of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and Ukrainian Insurgent Army; the members of this society took part in the national liberation movements of the Ukrainian nation from the late 1930s to the middle 1950s.
