Abstract

The article deals with the stages of scientific research of the territorial organization of recreation and tourism from the moment of the formation of tourism as an independent sphere of activity to modern trends. It is noted that each of the stages is characterized by certain concepts and models of the territorial organization of tourism. It is proved that among the current trends in the spatial organization of tourist activity the process of clusterization prevails, which spatially occurs both on the local and on the global levels.
