Низьковуглецевий розвиток енергетики Закарпатської області: сучасний стан та перспективи освоєння відновлюваних енергетичних ресурсів

Abstract

The potential of renewable energy resources in the Zakarpattia region is outlined. The current state of utilization of the region's unique potential in small mountain rivers, solar radiation, wind, biomass, and geothermal energy is analyzed. Investment activity related to the construction of “green energy” facilities is examined, as well as the main reasons hindering the practical implementation of important investment projects. Possible ways to accelerate the development of renewable energy in Zakarpattia are considered. It is noted that in the short term, there are real opportunities not only to fully meet the needs of the region’s economy and population but also to make a significant contribution to addressing national objectives defined in Ukraine's Energy and Low-Carbon Strategy action plans.
