Abstract

The article deals with the basic requirements for quality training and presents the structure of professional competence of a geography teacher. The main attention is paid to the formation of professional competencies of future geography teachers, especially in the process of practical training. The importance and peculiarities of the formation of professional competencies during the training (field) and production (pedagogical) practices are outlined. The peculiarities of education and practical training of future geography teachers in the dual form of education are noted. The ways of improving pedagogical practice in the context of forming methodological competence and ways of improving field practices in the context of forming other competencies of future geography teachers are outlined.
