Парадигматичні відношення синонімічного характеру (на матеріалі науково-технічної лексики автохтонного й англомовного походження)

Abstract

У статті визначено й проаналізовано особливості синонімічних відношень між англо-мовними й автохтонними термінологічними одиницями, які входять до української термі-носистеми науки й техніки.

Skoreiko-Svirska Iryna. Paradigmatic relations of synonymic nature (based on the scientific and technical vocabulary of autochthonous and English origin). The peculiarities of synonymic relations between English borrowings and native terms in the system of the Ukrainian terminology of science and technology have been analysed in the given article. During the investigation it has been determined that in the majority of cases scientific and technical terms of English origin and native lexical units function as terminological doublets. The prevailing use of borrowed terminology instead of corresponding autochthonous lexemes is caused primarily by the monosemantic character of anglicisms, their state of being stylistically neutral and by the ability of borrowed terms to define and differentiate the expressed notions in the best way.
