| Abstract: | The given paper deals with the relationship of direct, indirect and represented speech on the material of XX century British and American stories. Different examples of that relationship are analysed giving the author the possibility to come to the conclusion that three of them have certain advantages but their relationship creates a complicated linguistic structure with the interconnection of different types of speech making the narration more vivid versatile, prominent. |
