| Abstract: | The article deals with stylistic peculiarities of functioning of secondary nomination units in a literary text. The investigation is aimed at revealing stylistic devices of metaphor, metonymy, periphrasis, simile, oxymoron, gradation as powerful means of characters’ nomination. The analysis proved that stylistic devices are used with the aim of creating sarcastic or humorous atmosphere and exposing the idea of a literary text. |
