| Abstract: | The article deals with irony as the form of representing reality in short stories by American writer Dorothy Parker. Linguistic means of irony on different linguistic levels are considered. Productive means of situational irony (semantization of lexemes, transposition of syntactic structures, lexical and syntactic illogical collocations) and associative irony (repetition, citation and allusion) are analyzed in the article. |
