Мовна ситуація Києва (на матеріалі фокус-групових опитувань 2017 року)

Abstract

Статтю присвячено проблемі аналізу сучасної мовної ситуації у столиці. Дослідження здійснено на матеріалі фокус-групових опитувань 2017 р., в яких брали участь кияни різних вікових груп (18–35 та 36–65 років). Проаналізовано мовну поведінку мешканців столиці з метою виявлення їхнього ставлення до мовних проблем та усвідомлення важливості мовного питання в Україні.

Статья посвящена проблеме анализа современной языковой ситуации в столице. Исследование осуществлено на материале фокус-групповых опросов 2017 г., в которых принимали участие киевляне разных возрастных групп (18–35 и 36–65 лет). Проанализировано языковое поведение жителей столицы с целью выявления их отношения к языковым проблемам и осознания степени важности языкового вопроса в Украине.

Much research has been devoted to the problem of language situation in Ukraine and Kyiv as its capital. In this study language situation of Kyiv has been analysed on the basis of the newest focus-group survey in 2017. The article deals with the problem of Ukrainians’ attitude to the Ukrainian and Russian languages and issues, regarding to language conflicts and problems. The purpose of this paper is to identify the attitude of Ukrainians to the language problems and their views on the use of Ukrainian and Russian at the present and in the future. The research was conducted by analysing the results of focus-group investigation, which was done among 20 respondents of different age (18–35 and 36–65 years), gender and preferable language of everyday communication (Ukrainian and Russian). The method of interview was used to collect these data. The results have shown that people have different views on language issues in Ukraine. The evidences of this are the ambiguous and contradictory answers on many questions. Presented in the paper is the fact that most people do not consider language problems important, they think that it is speculation and provocation. So we can conclude that the participants of focus-group surveys and perhaps the vast majority of people do not understand the importance of language issues and do not define with their thoughts about the status of the Russian language.
