Abstract:	The article explores the phenomenon of Oleksiy Butovsky (1838–1917), a co-founder of the modern Olympic Games revival and the International Olympic Committee, who was of Ukrainian origin. The study analyzes his pedagogical concepts and administrative experience in disseminating Olympic ideals within the territory of Ukraine. It highlights the restoration of historical justice regarding O. Butovsky's scientific heritage, positioning him as a symbol of national sports identity and a key figure in global Olympism.
