Abstract

У кваліфікаційній роботі здійснено комплексний аналіз становлення, розвитку та трансформації римського війська доби Республіки. Розглянуто історіографію та джерельну базу дослідження, зокрема праці античних авторів, класичних і сучасних дослідників історії Стародавнього Риму. Проаналізовано передумови і етапи розвитку римського війська, його матеріально-технічного забезпечення, озброєння, тактики та військової організації. Визначено взаємозв’язок між розвитком римської військової організації та політичними, соціальними й економічними процесами. Також розкрито методичний потенціал теми для використання у шкільному курсі всесвітньої історії, зокрема для формування в учнів критичного мислення, історичної компетентності та розуміння взаємозв’язку між військовою справою, державою і суспільством.

The qualification thesis provides a comprehensive analysis of the formation, development and transformation of the Roman army during the Republican period. The historiography and source base of the research are examined, including the works of ancient authors, classical scholars and modern researchers of Roman history. The thesis analyzes the prerequisites and stages of development of the Roman army, its material and technical support, weaponry, tactics, and military organization. The connection between the development of Roman military organization and the political, social and economic processes in the Roman Republic is determined. The thesis also outlines the methodological potential of the topic for use in the school course of world history, particularly for developing students’ critical thinking, historical competence and understanding of the relationship between military affairs, the state and society.
