| Abstract: | The study proposes and discusses a model for knowledge production and truth discovery under the rubric of accommodating versus control. The proposed model shows that there are two types of knowledge production methods. The first method is to control the phenomenon by studying it by knowing the first root of the phenomenon or what the study calls a bottom-up method, in this case the independent variables are ad-hoc variables. The second method is the method of knowing the maximum potency of the phenomenon or its final path, which is what the study calls the method from top to bottom, in this case the independent variables are accommodators and their basic function is to accelerate the path of the phenomenon. The study raises a basic question that is, are the methods of producing knowledge different or similar in their results. The study assumes that the use of a specific method of knowledge production leads to the formation of a specific mood in the user. In the case of using the first root method of the phenomenon, the constituent mood is the mood of freedom or rebellion, while using the second method or the method of maximum potency of the phenomenon, the constituent mood of the user is the mood of submission. The fact remains the same if either method is used while the type and degree of mood formed varies. Preferring any of the two methods over the other depends on their stability in explaining the phenomenon with time change. |
