In this thesis, the comprehensive study of the creator’s and art discourse in Ukrainian lyrics of 20th century is performed on the basis of the wide range of the factual and theoretical material. The subject of the study is the collections of poems, the poetical cycles, the individual poems of the poets, whose oeuvre is characterized by the attempts to resolve the issue of the artistic self-reflection, by comprehension and figurative interpretation of the problem of the meaning and existence of the art, the aesthetic, cultural and historical vision of the author (writings of the poets-realists and modernists of the late 19th – early 20th centuries, of the representatives of the various literary movements, schools and groups of the first half of the 20th century, the founders of the "continental" and "emigration" poetry of the second half of the 20th century), the critical essays, reviews, letters, speeches and interviews of the writers, works, dedicated to the history of the Ukrainian literature of the 19th and 20th centuries, etc. The total volume of the investigated material makes more than 2000 addressed poetic texts of 280 Ukrainian poets. The artistic autoreception is defined in the present work as the system of the aesthetic convictions and the ideas of the author concerning the essence, the nature and the calling of the poetry writing, that are manifested in his writings. It is stated that the aesthetic convictions and ideas of the author should be considered as the autoreceptive if they are realized by the author within textual frames of his writings, but not out with them – in the comments, publicistic or literary and critical pronouncements, having the scientific and theoretical, but not the artistic character. Accordingly, the autoreceptive artistic discourse is defined as the specific notional context, within the frames of which unfolds the presentation of the semantics of the theme of the creator and the art in the artistic textual form. The work determines that the main form of realization of the autoreceptive semantics is the author’s reflection or self-reflection concerning one or another aspect of the poetry writing or of the personality of the author. The author’s self-reflection is noticeable for its orientation to the cognitive self-assessment of the artistic and axiological foundations of the own poetry writing, and the reflection is the peculiar aesthetic, moral and ethical, philosophic, existential response of the author to the particular aspects of the artistic expression of the other authors. The common ground between the author’s reflection and self-reflection is the fact that they are generated by the specific creative phenomenon of the self-cognition, the essence of which consists in the inducement of the author to the aesthetic self-definition, motivated by his search for the personal artistic identity, by the need to personally perceive the artistic moral and ethical, as well as social and public position, on which he strives to assert himself. In this thesis are studied the main phases and the artistic regularities of the development of the creative topics in the global and Ukrainian poetry, also herein are analyzed the theoretic and methodological foundations, upon which rests the experience of the critical evaluation of the phenomenon of the literary metatext in the Western European, Anglo-American and Russian literary studies. Also herein is performed the analysis of the status of development of the problem in the literary studies of the Ukrainian scientists, evolved the ideological and thematic, the conceptual and notional sphere, in which is emphasized the range of the semantic models of the poetry writing and of the author’s axiological strategies, realized within their frames. This thesis presents the studying of the significant genological characteristic features of the Ukrainian reflective lyrics of the 20th century, the analysis of its narrative and motivic structure, and the characterizing of the spectrum of the artistic ideas of the Ukrainian authors concerning such subjects and objects of the poetry writing as define the imaginative instantiation and detailing of the thematic trend of the author’s poetological reflection.
