Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze the contribution of Dr. Hryhorij Velychko to the study of agrarian geography. The work of the agricultural society «Silskyj hospodar» is characterized. The areas of activity of the scientist in the “Silskyj hospodar” society are considered – the popularization of the latest agricultural technologies at that time, the organization of branches of the society, the publication of printed works on the issues of agricultural production. The educational and scientific work of H. Velychko in the field of agriculture is analyzed. The main works of the scientist in the field of agrarian geography are named. The significance of H. Velychko’s research is described.
