Abstract: The article reviews the microstructural organization of the English prose text of postmodern period. The main attention is concentrated on the analysis of stylistic expressive means based on the expansion of source model, i.e. repetition, enumeration, syntactic tautology, polysyndeton. The syntactic models sorted out due to the method of entire selection are calculated and described as the components of particular fictional code. Thus, the common and different features of author’s preferences that convey the expressive coloring are described. The complex study of syntactic expressive means allow studying not only the ideostyle but also the tendencies of development of stylistic fictional text, its expressive syntax. We regard the expressiveness on the syntactic level as a quality of syntactic model for pragmatic strengthening and grammatical information. This study manifests that the usage of syntactic models based on the expansion principle in the prose literature foresees pragmatic effect strengthening and dynamics.
