Йосип Гошуляк: штрихи життєвого та творчого шляху (до першої річниці від дня смерті співака)

Abstract

У статті досліджено маловідомі сторінки життєвого та творчого шляху видатного співака Й. Гошуляка, який своєю працею утверджував українське мистецтво в Канаді. Розглянуто творчі спілкування вокаліста з культурно-освітніми діячами Бойківщини кінця ХХ – початку ХХІ століття. Охарактеризовано особисте листування з Й. Гошуляком, на тлі якого представлено духовний портрет маестро.

В статье исследовано малоизвестные страницы жизненного и творческого пути выдающегося певца И. Гошуляка, который своим трудом утверждал украинское искусство в Канаде. Рассмотрено творческие общения вокалиста с культурно-образовательными деятелями Бойкивщины конца ХХ – начала XXI века. Охарактеризовано личную переписку с И. Гошуляком, на фоне которой представлен духовный портрет маэстро.

The article highlights little-known pages of life and creativity way of an outstanding singer Y. Hoshuliak who with his dedicated work was strengthening Ukrainian art in Canada. Research author investigates artistic communication of the vocalist with culturally-educational figures of Boykivshchyna at the beginning of XXI century. Despite various socially-political conditions in the period of Soviet system collapse, he comes to his Motherland bravely, cooperates tightly reviving “white spots” of national culture. Conveying his vocal art to people Yosyp Hoshuliak gives numerous concerts in the cities of Ukraine. Apart from capital meetings with participation of a singer, there are musical holidays in smaller towns as well. Drogobych and Stryi belong to such ancient towns where the artist came repeatedly and presented his performing talent. Describing artistic meetings of a singer which took place at the beginning of XXI century, the author points out that the singer and Stryi are connected by both tight family relations (his wife, poetess, journalist, editor of his books, Stryi resident Marta Onufriv) and artistic communication with known public and culture figures such as archbishop Y. Kavatsiv, a poet V. Romaniuk, a pianistpedagogue Volodymyr Babyak, a journalist L. Tychenko, a teacher Dariia Zagaievych, a doctor M. Bidochko, musicologist U. Molchko. A jubilee artistic meeting of Y. Hoshuliak has been recorded; it took place in Drogobych state pedagogical university named after Ivan Franko on 7th October, 2002. The following people took part in the meeting: a professor M. Shalata, a composer R. Sovyak, musicologists V. Grabovskyi, L. Filoneko, O. Nimylovych, singers I. Klish, K. Sviatetskyi, B. Shchuryk, a conductor P. Gushovatyi, musicians V. Petrovanchuk, V. Kyrylych, Ye. Sovyak. Correspondence between Y. Hoshuliak and the author of the research has been discussed in the article, what deepens artistic and spiritual portrait of the artist. By their genre analyzed documents are letters-greetings which were received by the addressee during New Year and Christmas holidays in the period of 2004–2009. It is easy to trace the peculiarities of epistolary style by Y. Hoshuliak, in particular logical coherence, precision and laconism of layout. The artist’s statement of his civil position concerning worries about the destiny of his much-suffering Ukraine is the most impressive in letters-greetings. Through the prism of personal thought expression Y. Hoshuliak appears in front of us as an artist-patriot. Informative power of epistolaries of Y. Hoshuliak is significant for understanding the creative figure of the artist. This correspondence shows interesting pages from life, experience, world-view, aesthetic tastes and interests of an artist; they also introduce contemporaries to the historical processes which took place both in Ukraine and far away abroad.
