Abstract: The article deals with cooperative learning as basis of meaningful communication in the foreign language classroom. Cooperative learning has been specified as an educational approach, which aims to provide all necessary conditions for meaningful communication. The article explores several methods that are compatible with the interactive learning. Research indicates that cooperative learning has positive effects on student achievement, multiethnic relationships, self-esteem, and attitudes toward course content. It is proved that such kind of learning, based on positive interdependence, individual accountability, appropriate team formation, group processing, and social skills, can help students to get a considerable achievement in a communicative language learning.
